Bocas Del Toro

So we crossed into Panama on well lets just say the 11th. It is really fun to ride on busses let me tell you. We have been taking buses and none of them are less than 5 hours, but it only cost us about 2 dollars or so to take them so we like it. We arrived to a small bus stop and met a girl that lives in some town next to the border and we are going tomorrow to hang with her. She says that she has a lot of friends in the peace corps and we are going to hang out with them hopefully. Any how, how we got to the island of Bocas Del Toro specifically Isla Colon, we jumped on this little water taxi and came over (you thought it was going to be really crazy ha) so we got to this island and it was not really our cup of coffe!! (jenna wont let me use tea). So we found one of about 100 guys claiming they have a boat to take us to Isla Bastimentos for 2.50 we are bargan shopers. We have been on this island for two days and really like it, the best thing about it is that there is no roads or cars. It took Jenna two days to figure that out but lets not tell anyone that. So we have been hiking around made it to the other side of the island to some beautifull beaches, even though I am feeling a bit under the weather. Well that is all I have to say lets see what my lovely assistent has to say? Jenna? We have met a lot of people from all over the world and have been hanging out with them and listening to their stories (trey: It makes me want to travel more), some people that we met have sold there homes and quit there jobs and bought a plane ticket. How cool is that!!! anyhow love you all bye!!

And so the adventure continues! How exciting! It sounds like Panama is a different experience. Being the "people person" that I am, I would love meeting so many different ones and "hanging out" with them. That is how you get a taste of a country's culture and customs. Tomorrow Spur is coming to spend the day with Muggles. It should be a lot of fun?? As of now, we don't know if it is going to be a day visit or an overnighter. Either way, Muggles will have a blast even though I am expecting a wee bit of jealousy. You can check Rhonda's blog later to see how they did.

I guess we won't be shipping the green machine to you now; now that you're on Isla Bastimentos where there are no cars. Maybe you can talk your mom into sending one of the horses to you. :)It's been fun hearing all the different stories about Costa Rica from J & T, Miss & Jake and you guys. You guys are definitely the adventurous devils...I love it! Stay safe and keep the stories coming. We love you guys! Update on E, he found his voice today...no more peace and quiet - he's a talker!

You two are definitely in your element! It is very cool that you are having the opportunity to meet so many people and hear their stories, hangin with the locals is even better. Your boy Spur has been so good, he loves chillin with the girls. When they take off runnin he runs right after them. He is bossing 100 lb Lucky around thru the fence. He is a dog after all, sorry he likes to eat horse poop just like the rest of em! Trey a little Montezuma's revenge perhaps? Hope you are feeling better. I sure luv ya. Enjoy!

Hi sister and hubby. Derek and I are so proud of you and your adventure. I know you are not on this trip to change the world, but you went and did it and that is more then most people can say and this adventure you are on will change you so you will be able to change the world. We are very jealous and sometimes I have to go in the bathroom and throw up when I am done reading about your latest adventure because it makes me sick. I am excited to see what else lies ahead for you guys on this trip and when you get back - you are coming back right!!!!! We miss you. Derek and Missy

Spur came to spend the day with Muggles yesterday and we all had a blast! When Steve and Rhonda first left he was a little apprehensive. He made several trips to the gate to check and see if maybe they were still there with Muggles trotting dutifully at his side. She would sit beside him at the gate and when he came back, she once gain trotted along beside him. He soon settled in, though, and they played with lots of action and enthusiasm. All day they vied to see who would have possession of the pig hoof she loves to chew on. Naturally, even though she has two, they both wanted the same one. When the one who had it woild put it down, the other would pounce on it and then feeling safe, lay on George or my feet to gnaw on it. And so it went all day with first one having it and then the other. Toward the end of the day, Muggles began to tease Spur. She would drop it right in front of him and pretend like she was not watching and when he would move toward it, she would grab it and run and jump on George's lap. What a little stinker! They are so cute together and it is really hilarious to watch them interact.
By the time Janine came they were both exhausted. Spur was glad to see her and ready to go home. As soon as they left, Muggles crashed with her pig's hoof securely tucked under her paws. She was probably savoring all of Spur's slobbers! They are cute little critters!! Not having batteries for my camera I didn't get any pictures for Rhonda to post on her blog. This will have to do.
