Harlee Mae Colburn

Harlee Mae Colburn 8.14.2012 @ 3:33pm 6lbs 13oz 19inches and as healthy as can be
Montana's present from Daddy and I for being such a good girl.. A jeep with a boat, tent, campfire, dog, elk, quad, trailer and a girl... what more could you ask for...
Well as most of you know labor with Montana was extremely long and tiresome, I had the flu, labor was over 18 hours.. yeah it was no fun. So I was not looking forward to miss little Harlees entrance into this world. I coached my girls at Mountain View from 6:30-7:45am then we went to see Ramona (our midwife) at 8am on the 14th and she said I was dilated to a 3.5 but still pretty thick (as in don't hold your breath that she is coming). So I was kinda bummed but she stripped my membranes and told me that I would be pretty crampy for the rest of the day. She was right I sure was and trey left for work at 11am as he had a night qualification test. So I put tana to sleep at 11:30am and sat to watch a movie, as the movie begins my cramps change from "ouch that hurts" to rhythmic what feels like contractions. This goes on for another hour or so still unsure, however by 1:00pm the "contractions" intensity have increased alot so I get into our pool to alleviate the pain. I call Rhonda just to give her a heads up that she may need to pick up Montana and afterward I call Trey. I tell him that the contraction/cramps are hurting pretty bad but don't worry and don't come home yet. Well Luckily he did not listen to me because when he gets home at 2 I am on the floor already still breathing my way through but now I definitely know these are contractions. Trey packs the bag, Tana wakes up at 2:30 Rhonda gets to our house at 2:45 as I am mooing like a cow on the floor because it hurts so bad, Montana is staring at me wondering if I am just imitating a cow as she tries to join in but she is a little concerned. Trey did not have time to change car seats so we take Rhonda's car. We head to Mercy Gilbert Medical Center Trey is flying past traffic because I feel like I have to push and my demeanor completely changes. Trey says to me "don't you dare push this is my mom's car and if your water breaks in this car we will have to buy it" he was very serious and I was trying my hardest not to let my water break because if you know Rhonda or Trey you know everything has to be clean and in order... So Trey wheels me into emergency room tells the secretary "baby", I get wheeled up, Trey parks the car, I am in triage, nurse puts on her gloves nonchalantly I tell her I need to push she says ok, my water breaks (trey still isn't even up from parking the car) I feel "down there" and scream to the nurse I can feel the head! Nurse runs to the hall yells OB needed asap, OB comes in and I yell where is my husband I need Trey he finally gets there and out goes Harlee. We got to the hospital at 3:17pm and Harlee was born at 3:33pm. It was glorious! The best birth I could have asked for. So blessed to have my husband and my girls, life could not be better. Montana is adjusting so good, she gives Harlee kisses all the time! The hardest part about the birth was being away from Tana for 2 nights since I haven't really left her for more than 4 hours:). Thank you Rhonda for watching my sweet girl, Brinton for amazing Chipotle, everyone who came to the hospital to visit, Meredith for the shirts since my fancy husband forgot a shirt for me, my mom for flying out on short notice and staying for a week and everyone's sweet congratulations and gifts.... Much thanks we are lucky to have great people in our lives...

A great narrative, Jenna. That's the way to deliver a baby. It was pretty touch and go there, though, the floor, the car, or the hospital. She is beautiful, just like her big sister, Montana. I am honored that she shares my middle name. Yes, Harlee Mae sounds perfect.
